HONDA WORKERS VS. MILLITANT POLICE

I am an Indian living in Toronto, Canada for 4 years now. Came home this evening from my job to be visited by a very close Canadian friend while the Hindi Z-News was on telecast on ATN channel at 6:30 P.M. local time. That was a grave mistake on my part for insisting to watch the 30 minutes Indian news telecast and then talk. It started showing the merciless and cowardice beating of a lone cop by people (said to be agitating Honda workers and not terrorists or criminals) while other policemen fled the scene, leaving him alone and he was trying to resists/plea, in vain. Next came the horrifying scene of flocked together and confounded empty-handed people (like a good catch in a net) being beaten up by multiple cops with sticks, enjoying sadistically. I wanted to shut down the television at that point, knowing the consequences I had to go through in the form of unanswerable questions by this Canadian knowledge worker who was being translated everything by my ever-charged wife without my approval. But he insisted we watch that "life time show", as if we rode a time-machine back to medieval times of barbaric tortures. They were all horrified (not me, since I watch a great deal of horror movies) and my wife fled the family-room in shame, disgust, anger and fear. My Canadian friend noticed one thing - while the people were beating the lone cornered policeman, a few of them at least pleaded and tried to protect him, even used their sticks to shield him. May be that was why the same policeman did not get killed in the spot despite the mob fury. But when the policemen were beating those trapped “mass of people” in the “drag-net”, none of them (policemen) tried or pleaded to save those bare-handed people. I don’t know if his observation was correct.

Shame on you the police branded sadistic people and down with their inefficient and incapable selectors and trainers! Police is to serve and protect and not to take revenge in a fanatic manner on trapped bare-handed crowd.

Come on politicians to cash on the situation as most of you do in the name of doing your duties.

I love my India!!!
